Construction pay runs from a legal minimum around 240-264 NOK an hour up to about 300 NOK (roughly €23-26) for experienced trades, about €4,000-5,000 gross a month before overtime. What work in Norway is really like
Norway keeps building, fishing, farming and moving goods all year, and there simply are not enough local people to do it. That is why Norwegian employers hire steadily from Latvia, Poland and across the EU. The jobs are real, the contracts are proper, and the wages are set by law, not by whoever is cheapest.
Most of the work we place is practical and hands-on, so you do not need Norwegian to start. You do need to be over 18 and hold an EU or EEA passport. Above all, we are looking for people who know a trade: carpenters, concrete workers, welders, drivers, electricians, finishers. If you have real experience on the tools, you have the best chance by far. You get hired faster, you get the better-paid jobs, and employers ask for you by name. There are entry-level roles too, but experience is what moves you to the front of the queue.

What jobs in Norway pay
Norway has no single national minimum wage, but many industries have a legal minimum that applies to everyone, including foreign workers. In construction it is 239.61 NOK an hour for someone new to the sector and 264.32 NOK for a skilled worker, set by the Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority. The employers we work with usually pay above that, from around 270 up to about 300 NOK an hour (roughly €23.50-26) for experienced tradesmen, and overtime pays at least 40% more by law. In practice, most people we place earn around €4,000-5,000 gross a month, and skilled trades and offshore work pay above that.
Can EU citizens work in Norway?
Yes, freely. Norway is in the EEA, so an EU or EEA passport is all the right to work you need, no visa, no permit, no quota. Once you arrive you get a tax card and a D-number at a tax office, register with the police if you stay past three months, and wear a personal safety card on site. Your employer and our partner walk you through each step.
Cost of living in Norway
Norway is not cheap, and it is fair to know that going in. A room in a shared house runs about 5,000-5,500 NOK a month (€455-500), food costs more than in most of Europe, and a beer out is expensive. But wages are set against those prices: on a Norwegian construction wage, with a shared room and home cooking, most workers still save far more than they could on the same job back home.
Your rights as a worker in Norway
A written contract, always
Every job in Norway must come with a written employment contract, no matter how short the work is. It states your pay, hours and duties before you start. Never work without one.
Overtime pays at least 40% extra
Full time is 37.5 hours a week in most agreements. Anything past the legal limits must pay a supplement of at least 40%, and many construction agreements pay 50-100%.
Paid holiday every year
You are entitled to at least four weeks and one day of paid holiday a year, with holiday pay of at least 10.2% of what you earned the year before.
Legal minimum wages in your sector
Construction, fish processing, cleaning and agriculture all have legally binding minimum rates set by the Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority (Arbeidstilsynet). No employer can pay you under them.

Does Norway have a minimum wage?

Can I work in Norway if I am not an EU citizen?
It is much harder. Citizens of countries outside the EU and EEA need a concrete job offer first, and then a residence permit for work from the Norwegian immigration authority (UDI) before they can start. T&A Nordic places EU and EEA passport holders only, because they can start work without a permit.
